Submitting the links to forum and directory links might seem to be an easy way to get traffic to the website but it can be harmful as well. Due to the disadvantages that submitting links to forums can have, one should carefully think before taking a decision.

One of the major disadvantages that directory submissions have is that they can get tiresome and lingering. One should be very carefully and optimise the content of the website before submitting links to any directories.

The one thing that should be avoided while submitting links is bulk submission in directories as this makes it very difficult to ensure that the quality of these directories is good. There is also no certainty that one has that the site will rank high in search engines after submission to such directories and using their services. Submitting to directories is a cumbersome and time consuming task.

It takes a lot of time to get the desired results from these directories and one needs to have a lot of patience to see the volume of traffic increasing. Though there are some advantages of forum and directory links but one must be sure as these might hurt you and your website.
